I just got back from having a rather good time, and we are now playing some VNV Nation for our musically ignorant flatmate. This is going to be comments rather than a review, I don't think I'm up to it. Resurrection Eve were very good. I really liked the music and enjoyed the spectacle. The singer was rather cute and his dancing only went into self-parody once. I couldn't resist the urge to dance (or at least jiggle) and was the only one to do so during two of their songs! I bought their first album from the singer after the gig, and found out there is another album being released in September. They are playing at in Fitzroy on Wednesday July 3rd. I intend to buy the next album. Abyss is a good venue with a satisfactory sound system. There was a girl who belly danced. She wore a belly dancer outfit. The people on the door were friendly. I liked the music the DJs played, although I'd possibly heard a little bit too much of the first set after the band played. There was the full panoply of goths and costumes, some divine and some laughable. I'm stopping now. -- Beagle beagle@thomasbeagle.net
